CAMERAS
Panasonic HMC40P
A professional camcorder that can record in 1080p definition with 24p, 30p, and 60i framerates. Portable and quality recordings with a touch screen, slow motion, and fast motion options.
Canon 70D
These are lines of DSLR cameras with high resolution imaging, both used for photography and videography. These cameras have multiple resolution options when filming ranging from 1080p to 4K. Highly versatile and easy to use interfaces.
Fujifilm XT20 Mirrorless
An extremely portable camera that offers excellent image and recording quality. Offers up to 4K recordings and is highly reliable when in need of autofocus.
Black Magic 4K/6K
A more portable version of industry standard films. Contains powerful image quality and is capable of filming in 4K or 6K, depending on the model. Storage may come as an issue, as short clips can amount to a few gigabytes. Recommended to use when you have an available external hard drive (1TB and above).
AUDIO EQUIPMENT
SENNHEISER MKH-416
Monodirectional microphone that picks up audio in one direction. High quality sound recording.
BOYA BY-M1
Portable microphones that can be attached to the subject. (Tape and batteries must be provided by the borrower.)
Zoom H6
Audio recorder and saves the audio files. This is the primary piece of equipment that is connected to the microphone.
Headphones
Standard headphones for reviewing audio playbacks. Typically connected to the Zoom H6.
Boompole
Physical pole used to prop up microphones during production. Typically held by a crew member while recording.
TRIPODS/DOLLIES
MANFROTTO MK190X
The equipment center features a variety of tripods. All of them are from Manfrotto’s line of tripods.
Dolly
An attachment to put your tripod on top of to give it the ability to move. This is used for tracking shots that require a steady but mobile shot of a subject.
Spider Dolly
A track dolly that requires setup to lay down its tracks. Makes a moving shot more dynamic and steady but requires assembly.
LIGHTING EQUIPMENT
Lightmeter L-308s
A digital light meter that reads light levels for ambient lighting/flash photography. Used for properly calculating and measuring the proper light levels to adjust exposure levels for cameras.
Aperture Monitor
Used as a preview to accurately depict what the camera is capturing. This is used to see the difference of camera previews and on-screen quality.
Redheads
Lights that are very warm in temperature. Utilized when filming in front of a green screen to offset the green light bouncing off the skin of the subject. Has a high wattage, do not cover with a cloth for diffusion. Only connect two redheads per extension cords.
MISCELLANEOUS
Clapper
Visual and auditory marker to organize clips. Used to make clips easier to identify for the offline editor.
Extension Cord
Has 3 slots for multi-pronged plugs. Wire can be extended to reach long distances.
